When Life Happens

Life doesn't always turn out to be what we "expected" it to be does it? It's not always sunshine and roses. It's not always going to be a mountaintop experience. As a matter of fact, there will be much more time spent in the valleys.

But it's there in those low places, those "depressions", those seemingly never ending sorrows, those afflictions, heartaches and betrayals that we become more and more like our Shepherd.

Did He not walk through life bearing some of the most painful burdens any human ever could? Even Jesus himself, in all His perfection struggled with anguish, grief and affliction and He was perfect! Who are we to think our lives should be any better?

It's difficult to take a long, hard look at our reality at times, but when we view it through HIS eyes and what He faced for us, it gives us a perspective that we can find comfort in.

Even if things never get better. Even if your loved one is never healed. Even if that ache for more is never fulfilled, God is STILL good. He is STILL worthy. He is STILL on the throne and He still loves you so very much.

Just because you can't see the end result, doesn't mean that God has forgotten about you. It just means He loves you enough to equip you for what He's about to give you. Let me say that again for the folks in the back. Just because you can't see where this thing called life is headed, it doesn't mean that God has forgotten about you or that He doesn't see you.

He sees, He knows, He FULLY understands exactly what you're going through and He's ready and willing to meet you exactly where you're at in this very moment. He was in ALL ways tempted, AS WE ARE, yet was without sin. What a Savior. What an example. What a testimony to His keeping and saving power.

I'm here to tell you my friend, trouble don't last always. The darkest part of the night comes right before the dawn and when you're down to nothing, literally nothing, that is the exact moment God can and will step into your situation and give you that miracle. Because it's only THEN, when we've run out of our OWN resources, our own agendas, our own expectations of OURSELVES, that HE can do what only HE can do.

Hold on my friend. Help is on the way! It may not be today, it may not be tomorrow, it may not even be this year, but my friend, if there's one thing I know, it's that God is NEVER late. He's ALWAYS right on time!

Stand on His Word and His promises!
