Walking on Waves

Walking out onto the waves to meet Jesus can be terrifying, crippling, even paralyzing. We see the tempestuous storms that could possibly come our way and we allow fear to completely side track us.

The things God has for us to do not only require boldness but focus. Focus on Jesus and Him alone. When we get out on the waves and we allow the storm to distract us, it's THEN that we start sinking. Our fears are taking greater precedence over our faith. We sink because we lose sight of the one who called our name.

God does business in GREAT, DEEP waters. God is not shallow. You won't find Him in the shallow waters. You won't find Him with shallow faith. It takes a leap out of your comfort zone into the deep of where God is. Where He wants to take you. Where He's drawing you to. Yes, fear may surround you. Yes, fear whispers to you to just stay where you are. Don't go there. Don't make that move. Don't take that risk.

But faith, faith says YES. Faith says step out, even when fear is screaming the opposite. Faith says walk on the waves, even when fear is pulling at you to stay in the boat. Faith says TRUST, even when fear is tempting you to doubt. Faith says keep your eyes on Jesus, even when fear wants you to notice the violence of the waves.

We don't fix our eyes on things of this world. We fix our eyes on Jesus. The Author and FINISHER of our faith. Our very PRESENT help in trouble. The very one who showed us that we're not alone on the waves because He's right there with us, reaching for our hand and heart.

Faith over fear. Jesus is with you and you're going to make it. He's rooting for you and He's waiting for you to take His hand and walk on the waves with Him.
