Show Your Scars

As Christians, I believe we like to hide our imperfections. At least I know I have been guilty of it. We sometimes can get in this mode of thinking that because we have the holy ghost, we're not "supposed to" have any "problems". That's a misconception. We ALL have struggles and we ALL have things in our lives and in our pasts that we'd just prefer to brush under the rug and act like it never happened or that it doesn't exist.
There is beauty and CHARACTER that comes out of the things in our lives that the world considers "flawed". We see OURSELVES in a MUCH different way than others see us, even more so, the way GOD sees us. We see our flaws under a magnifying glass. God sees our flaws as COVERED by his grace.
Whether it be a physical imperfection, mental, emotional, whatever the case may be. It's covered and it's BEAUTIFUL. God sees an opportunity to cover those places with HIS strength. He will use EVERY weakness for HIS glory. He will take every past hurt and use them to shape and mold us for His ultimate purpose for our lives.
You may think that God can't use a broken vessel, a broken heart, a broken spirit. I come to tell you that His word says the opposite.
For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Psalms 51:16‭-‬17 KJV
So, if you're feeling broken today, in any way, KNOW that God DOES NOT despise you because of it. On the contrary, he draws even closer to you RIGHT in the middle of it all.
The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
Psalms 34:18‭-‬19 KJV
He WILL use your life and your story for HIS glory. He will take every mistake, every wound, every scar, every piece of what's been broken by the world and beautifully piece you back together as HIS masterpiece. Is it an easy process? NOT AT ALL. Is it worth it? EVERY BIT.
I encourage you today, look at your flaws and your scars, past and present and see how God is using them to strengthen, establish and PERFECT you in ways that ONLY he can. For he is GREATER. Your story, no matter how the pieces have been broken, can and will be used to create a masterpiece that will change your world and the lives around you.
Show your scars. They very well may be what someone needs to see to know that THEY TOO can be redeemed!
