Misplaced Expectations

All throughout our lives, we face uncertainties. In every area. We feel the weight of it all and at times it seems more of a burden than we can possibly bear. In those moments is EXACTLY when Jesus wants us to RUN to him to be our strength. 

Too many times we walk around with weight on OUR shoulders that was never ours to carry to begin with. We live in a world of EXPECTATIONS and deadlines. At times, in my own life, I've felt the need to "measure up" to a certain level of expectation. Alot of times, I've found, our expectations of OURSELVES and our OWN perceptions of it, are misplaced. How WE view ourselves and our progress in life is ALOT different than how GOD and others view us.

Jesus wants us to give him EVERY burden and EVERY care. We aren't superhuman. We are simply human. We can't do it all and we shouldn't try. We certainly shouldn't attempt to bear every burden that comes our way. We have to make a conscience choice to give some things over to God and leave them there. When the load gets heavy, we can't look around for help. We have to LOOK UP unto the hills, from whence cometh our help!

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord , which made heaven and earth.

Psalms 121:1‭-‬2 KJV

He's there in every moment, waiting for US to reach for HIM. Waiting for us to let go and LET HIM help us to walk the path he's laid before us. He doesn't give us a task without giving us the ability to accomplish it. Even when we feel "less than", our feelings are irrelevant. He doesn't call the qualified. He qualifies the CALLED! 

So, today, if God has given you a task that is MUCH bigger than you, take hold of courage and keep marching forward. It's bigger than you because he wants you to lean on HIM. To trust in HIM. To depend on HIM. Only he is able to bring us into a God-sized dream that will, in the end, cause us to grow INTO all he has for us. He has a purpose for the pain. He has a reason for every season. He's walking with you, even when you can't feel him. Place ALL expectation IN him and ON him. He is the ONLY one who will NEVER disappoint.
