Hope In the Waiting

The Lord has been speaking to me alot lately through the simplest of things that I could be doing at any given time. Tonight, as I was cleaning up after some flooring work my family and I did, I said, "well, I see the prep work is really what takes the longest." Right then I said, "ok Jesus. I hear you. Loud and clear."

The prep work, what goes into ANYTHING, is usually what takes the longest.
Measuring, making sure things are a good "fit" requires time and tedious attention to detail. Even the quality of the work that goes into what you're preparing for, is what guarantees that it's going to last.

If you do something "half way", then you can expect it to work "half way," but if you put all your time, resources, and energy into something, you're almost guaranteed a high quality outcome. The same goes for our walk with God. If we rush God's preparation process, then I can guarantee we won't get the "finished product" we had in mind. God isn't going to give us something we're not ready for. He certainly isn't going to open a door that will take us into something He hasn't fully prepared US for and prepared FOR us. It will be a lesser version of what HE has for our lives. Simply because we chose to bypass His perfect will in our impatience.

In our lives, there will be times that God takes us through a season of preparation. I don't think this season is like any other. It's not a short span of time, usually. At least it hasn't been for me. Anything GREAT, is going to require TIME. It will require sacrifice, obedience and willingness to move when God says move. We can't skip over our season of preparation just because we're anxious to get that "thing" we want. Or because we're anxious to take hold of what we think our lives lack. No, we have to wait it out with Jesus.

No matter how impatient we become in the process, that doesn't change the fact that God's timing is perfect. We may not understand why he's taking us through certain things in our lives, but even when we don't understand, we have to trust that He's leading us to a beautiful destination. It's up to us to surrender to the process. Surrender to the preparation. Surrender to His leading and surrender to His PERFECT will. It will hardly ever be easy but it will ALWAYS be worth it. He's preparing you for more than you could ever imagine! Don't grow weary in well doing, for in YOUR DUE season, you SHALL reap IF you faint not! He is working ALL things together for YOUR good to give you your EXPECTED end! There is hope in the waiting!
