He Pursues Me

Have you ever loved someone, I mean REALLY loved someone, that didn't love you back? If not, just try to imagine for a moment what that would feel like. To give someone your ALL, just to have them take it for granted, or completely dismiss your love all together.

I can imagine that's exactly how Jesus felt and still feels when we reject him. When we reject all he did for us and still does, and go our own way, living as WE please. Instead of pleasing TO HIM. I can imagine it GRIEVES the Lord when anyone, including church goers, treat a relationship with him like it doesn't really matter.

The sacrifice that he made for us, like anyone would truly make for someone they truly love, is a sacrifice that alot of times, alot of us just brush off like he owed it to us. He didn't owe us anything. At. All. He freely gave his life for ALL mankind. Fully knowing that we'd never have the ability or capacity to return it to him. Yet He. Did. It. Anyway.

I don't know about you, but I don't know anyone on this earth that would make that kind of sacrifice for anyone. We owed a debt we could not pay, so he paid a debt he did not owe. There is absolutely no greater love.

If he gave his life for us, so should we give our lives for him and for our brothers and sisters.

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

1 John 3:16 KJV

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8 KJV

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Romans 12:1‭-‬2 KJV

He deserves it ALL.

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Deuteronomy 6:4‭-‬5 KJV

Your WHOLE heart. Your WHOLE life. Your time, your energy, your efforts. He deserves it. He deserves every bit of our love and devotion and he will never stop pursuing us, regardless of if we ever make the choice to let him catch us.
