At the Point of Our Weaknesses

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

1 Corinthians 1:25‭-‬27 KJV

God chooses us, NOT based on our abilities, NOT based on our strengths, NOT based on our title or position in authority, NOT based on OUR wisdom, NOT based on what we know.

He chooses us because we are WEAK. Imagine that! Why would God choose someone with weaknesses? The truth is, we ALL have weaknesses. It is ONLY through the Lord that we are anything that we are. NOT by OUR might, not by OUR strength, but by HIS spirit!

HIS strength is made PERFECT, in our WEAKNESS. His glory is more fully SEEN through the places in our lives that the WORLD sees as "unworthy". His power is more evident through the situations that the WORLD sees as impossible. His provision is SURE in places where the WORLD shows no way. His paths are made plain in places where the WORLD sees as crooked.

Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

Zechariah 4:6 KJV

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV

He presses us into moments where we are at our WEAKEST, so that HE can work. He breaks us, to show us OURSELVES. Before a weakness can become a strength, that weakness has to be revealed, where we are FULLY aware of our weak flesh. So that HE can be made strong in our lives.

I listened to a message today and the preacher said, "if there's one thing that stands between God and man, it's the strength of man." That makes perfect sense to me. We think we're capable of handling alot on our own. We think we can "fix" ourselves. That God doesn't want the weak parts of us. That he doesn't want the parts of us that are deemed useless to this world. My friend, I beg to differ!

God CAN and WILL take what the world has discarded as useless and use you to change the world! So what if you don't look like, talk like, act like the rest of the world. So what if you're not who everyone in your life thinks you should be. So what if people don't like things about you. So what! Let the REDEEMED of the Lord say SO!

God will take those VERY THINGS and reveal them TO YOU, so that he can USE YOU for HIS glory! Don't ever doubt what you are capable of because of what this world has taken you through. Don't ever doubt what you are capable of because of what this world has said about you. Don't ever doubt yourself! Period. God's plans are much greater than opinions. God's plans are much greater than weaknesses. God's plans are much greater.

Let him take every weakness and use it to turn you into a FISHER OF MEN. Learn of him. Let HIM lead you. Let him guide you and let him be your strength. I promise you can't do it on your own. You need him, but even furthermore, he needs YOU.
