As a Tree

God has been dealing with me about some things and I'd like to share, in hopes of helping someone else.

All through life, we face storms. Storms of all kinds. Spiritual and physical. I'd like to talk about spiritual storms. God has been speaking to me lately in the sense of storms being the test of my ability to stand. "As a Tree". Trees have roots, trees bear fruit, trees sway with the wind, trees offer a resting place at times, trees can also help the environment they are in, trees GROW and trees flourish. All of these things, can be related to our walk with God.

The depth of a tree's roots will determine its ability to withstand when storms come. How deeply rooted are you in God? In prayer? In your walk with him?

Whether a tree bears fruit determines whether that tree is of any use to those around it. Are you productive in your walk with God? Are you helping others to bear their fruit?

When a tree sways with the wind, some of its weaker branches may fall off, but in the end, it stands. Are you allowing the winds of adversity to rid you of your weaknesses so that you become stronger?

Different trees offer different types of resting places for birds, etc. Are you offering a place of refuge to your brothers and sisters in Christ? Are you helping to build others up so that they too can help someone else?

Trees offer benefits to their environment, such as shade or protection. Are you benefitting your environment? Are you making your world a better place to live?

Trees GROW. Through all of the things that trees face, all the storms, all the winds, the droughts, the threat of being hewn down, the pestilence ... trees grow. They grow right where they are planted. They stand. They overcome. They persevere. They rise. They dig deeper into their soil. They thirst for more. Even after all they've faced.

I think it's safe to say, a lot of us can relate to a tree if we really think about it. God takes us through seasons and changes in our lives but he always brings the rain again. To water us, to cleanse us, to make us whole.

He is the maker of all things, our heavenly Father. He knows what he's doing. He doesn't need our help at all. He simply wants our faith and trust in him. Trust in him today to grow you and help you to bear much fruit in your life.

I truly hope this has been a help to someone. Allow God to do a work in your life. It will all be worth it!!!

Faith, Hope, and Love always,
Christie
