Your Future is Your Definition

YOU are not defined by your past. You are not defined by things that have happened to you. You are not defined by things people have said to you. You are not defined by people's opinions of you. You are not defined by a mirror. You are not defined by your failures. You are NOT your past. Even something that happened a second ago, once that second has passed, it becomes THE PAST.

Alot of times, in my own life, my past failures and setbacks have tried to limit who I am TODAY. We all have an enemy that loves to torment us with what we've done (past tense). It's ALL he has on us! He doesn't know our future! Only God has that power! All he knows is what's behind us, so he uses that against us to try and KEEP US FROM what's AHEAD of us.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jeremiah 29:11 KJV

God's word says HE KNOWS the thoughts he thinks towards us. Why would he want us to fail? Why would he want us to be hindered in any way? Why would he torment our minds with things that HE BROUGHT US OUT OF?

Every day, we have to gird up the loins of our minds with God's TRUTH because we have an enemy just waiting to feed us his lies. Don't think for one second that he'll let you off the hook, just "this one time". One time eventually turns into a HABIT. God wants the FIRST FRUITS of all we have! Including our time!

Let his word, HIS TRUTH, be the very FIRST thing to penetrate your mind, EVERY DAY. When we ground ourselves in his word, before anything else, it sets the tone for the rest of our day. This goes for us all. We can either choose to let the day pass us by or we can choose to let every moment count. Especially in our walk with God. There's no gift like the PRESENT. Don't let your past and the ways you USED to have keep you from being ALL that God so desires you to be.

Don't let the enemy have another moment of your time. Every time he reminds you of your past, remind him of his future!

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

If ANY be IN CHRIST (Repent, be baptized and receive the holy ghost, Acts 2:38), YOU ARE A NEW CREATURE! Your past no longer has power over you. Furthermore, it's under the blood and once it's under the blood, no man and no devil can reach under the blood of Jesus and bring it back out! Walk in the newness that Jesus died to give you and me! Stop letting your past hang over your head like a dark cloud! Jesus didn't die for us to walk around defeated! He surely didn't give us NEW life for us to constantly LOOK BACK!

Look FORWARD to all God has for you! He is a promise keeper. He's a chain breaker. His word is TRUE. His ways are perfect. He has a perfect plan for you. His hands are holding you and your life. Trust in him. The devil is a liar. Our redeemer lives! and he's making a way for you, even when you don't see it.
