The Foundation of 2018

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Matthew 7:24‭-‬25 KJV

Last night, after church service, I asked my Pastor if he had one word for 2018, what would it be? He said FOCUS.

So, on this first day of the new year, I wanted to write about being FOUNDED and FOCUSED as we enter into 2018.

The past year, God took alot of things away from me. In the spirit and in the physical, but what I came to realize is that he had to take all those things away in order to establish my foundation in him and HIM ALONE. I was building upon an unstable foundation, he changed all that.

In this scripture, it says if ANY man heareth these sayings of mine (HIS WORD) and DO them, that he will liken him unto a wise man. We have to be founded and established BY the word of God. Apart from His word and apart from him, we're building upon sinking sand. The storms of life will come through and tear our "house" apart, completely destroying everything we thought we had built.

When we build upon HIS foundation, HIS truth, HIS word, we're building upon SOLID ROCK. So when the storms come and the winds try and destroy us, we KNOW by the wisdom given us by God's word, that we will not fall, but stand.

Our strength comes from what we've founded our lives on. It comes from the things that come our way that try and shake us. It comes from ABIDING in God's word. Apart from him and apart from his perfect will, we're building on sinking sand.

So what will your 2018 be built upon? Will you start off founded, rooted and built up in God's word and walking in his perfect will? Not OUR will but HIS. His precepts, His word, His ways, His perfect will. Seek it and walk in tune with what he's wanting to do in your life. Found yourself in God and he will build you into a STRONG spiritual house that WILL NOT be able to be shaken by the storms in this world!
