Your Greatest Weapon

According to a little research I've done, the Bible mentions the word PRAISE 248 times. That tells me, it's IMPORTANT!MOST of those times were written by King David in the Old Testament.

David always seemed to be in some kind of battle right? Yet he PRAISED God the most. He wrote about his praises to God. He praised him in psalms or songs, he praised him in dance, he praised him through prayer. He lived a LIFE of praise.

I think David was on to something. He knew where his strength lied. He knew that praise was going to take him through his battles and ultimately win him the victory against his enemies.

He knew that God was not slack and that God was a deliverer. He also knew the power of praise. If he didn't know the power of it, surely he wouldn't have praised in so many ways and written the LONGEST book in the Bible about it. Think about it. Try reading through a few of the Psalms and meditate on what David could have possibly been going through at that time.

Regardless of what he faced, he praised. He blessed the name of the Lord. He instructed us on how to praise and with what to praise God with. He knew that praise was a mighty weapon against his enemies. He knew that praise tore down strongholds in his life. He knew that the God he was praising, responds in ways that brought deliverance to his life.

Today, I encourage you, if you're fighting something, if you're wrestling with your past, if you feel overwhelmed or overtaken, PRAISE the name of the Lord. Start thanking him for all you're asking of him. When you go to church, give the devil a black eye by stepping out of your comfort zone! Clap your hands, stomp your feet, leap for joy, do a dance, lift your hands in victory! The enemy can't do ANYTHING with a praiser!!! It's your greatest weapon! Don't ever take it for granted and don't ever let it go un-used!!!

What scripture did David close Psalms with?

Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord .

Psalms 150:6 KJV
