Matters of the Heart

But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

1 Samuel 16:7 KJV

The condition of our hearts speaks volumes more to God than any other thing in our lives. It's not our status, our position, our dress or any other outward thing that makes the difference.

The Bible speaks of having a pure HEART. It speaks of guarding our hearts because the issues of life flow from it. It speaks of God creating a CLEAN heart within us. God sees our INWARD parts.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Proverbs 4:23 KJV

He knows our intentions and he knows when we're living the same life inwardly as we are outwardly. It's not a question to God. There is nothing we can hide from him.

It's my encouragement today to give it ALL to God. Don't hold anything back and don't focus more on being perfect on the outside. God sees the true intentions of your heart and he knows the areas in our lives that we need help with. All we have to do is give it to him. He will direct us in HIS ways. Once our HEARTS are in the right place in the sight of God is when it will begin to show OUTWARDLY.

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalms 139:23‭-‬24 KJV

Issues of the heart can be the most difficult to overcome, BUT with God, he can take every scar, every broken part, every deep wound, every ounce of unforgiveness and bitterness and give us a spiritual heart transplant. Give him ALL of your heart. If we only give him part, he can only PARTLY work in our lives.
