Calm Seas Do Not Make Sailors

I heard a sermon last night titled, "A Calm Sea Doesn't Make a Sailor." To say it was a TIMELY message is an understatement. It came directly to my heart and spirit from the throne room of God.

He spoke of storms and how they MAKE us. He spoke of how God puts us in those places in our lives to mold and shape us into EXACTLY who God needs us to be for HIS USE.

See, when we try to take the wheel into our own hands, we tend to steer towards the EASIER, CALMER seas. We tend to steer our lives in the direction that WE want to go. What about God? What about what HE has for us? What about where HE wants to send us? ANYTHING we do in our own power, strength or thinking will bring us nothing but temporary results.

Where God wants to take us will lead us right down that straight and narrow path that leads to ETERNITY.

We think we have our lives all figured out at times. We think we know what to do when storms come, but when that storm shows up and completely blind sides us, who will we turn to? Lord knows our flesh is weak and failing. We have to lean on our everlasting Father! We have to run to his arms! We are FOREVER safe in his LOVE and CARE!

So don't spend your life thinking you've got it all figured out. Pour out yourself and let God pour his spirit in! He will lead, guide and direct the ship of your life in ways you've never dreamed of! Will it be easy? Hardly! Will it be worth it? Most definitely!

Don't wait til the storm is over! Praise him THROUGH it and watch him make a SAILOR out of you!!!

And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

Matthew 8:23‭-‬27 KJV
